Staying True To Myself

Face it.  It's not always easy to be a trooper.  But here is the conviction I made years ago:
  1. No "what if?" questions.  I go for what I want.  I am a smart woman, and I tend to over-think and over-analyze situations.  Going for what you want is stepping out of your comfort zone.  Only real growth and excitement happens when you do.
  2. No "should have" responses.  I have no regrets.  I typically put myself in 100% or not at all.  It is hard to do this with work all the time, but it has always been the way I treat anything personal. I have no regrets, just lessons learned.  I would much rather look back on my life and say "it was tough and I got hurt" than say "I wish I would have done or tried that."
This kind of theory can be intimidating, and I have been told so in the past.  People who don't understand it generally describe it as "reckless."  But you should always ask yourself this question: what do I have to lose?

Frank Herbert's litany on fear, from Dune - my absolute favorite quote.
